Trade Afro are currently raising funds view to all proceeds going towards setting up a multi purpose
Music Education Centre situated in the Diallaw region of Dakar, Senegal.
The Diallaw Music Education Centre (DMEC) will offer the local community free access to modern instruments, recording facilities and music lessons. It will also offer an extensive range of residential music workshop packages to foreign students and will create long term employment for a large group of the community, bringing much needed trade and tourism to the area.
The DMEC committee now own Trade Afro with all profits from the sale of these instruments going towards setting up the school. We are currently setting up a LTD company with charity status which will except donations and sposorship from UK companies to help us with this fantastic cause.
The current Trade Afro craftsman will be equipped with a new professional workshop to further develop the fabrication of the top quality West African instruments. Until now the only place you could buy our products was online but we are now able to export the products to distribution agents around the world, so expect to see the logo in a shop near you sometime in 2008.
